US Army Armament Training System now used during courses
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Designed to teach an experienced shooter how to safely handle their firearm in a night scenario. Over 60% 0f aggravated assaults occur at night. According to two multi-year police reports the average hit rate drops at night to 45% from a daytime average of 64%. Over 60% of violent crime occurs at night and almost a 3:1 ratio of shootings at night vs day.
SYLLABUS & TRAINING OVERVIEW:
Academic, skills and scenario based training focusing on safety and nighttime operations. Academic and simulator concentration is on the minimal field of view, recognition of friendlies vs enemy targets and weapon aids to the shooter. US Army's Odyssey Armament Training System (OATS) incorporates a flashlight mode that allows low light training for threat recognition vs friendlies. Shooting training is done with low light and no external lights. Specialized training for Night Sights, Lights, Lasers, Red Dot Sights and Night Vision Goggles (NVGs). Demos available.

3-4 Hours total instruction (2 hour classroom, 1 hour shooting range)

2 per Instructor (Coordinate for courses larger than 2 for additional instructors)
