US Army Armament Training System now used during courses
We provide the highest quality training system for our students. At the start of each course we have an academic session prior to shooting. This ensures knowledge, skill, safety and comfort prior to getting on the firing line with a live weapon. We learn in the classroom and practice on the range.
During the academic session we provide several training tools to enhance the learning process.
1. We start with a non-functioning training pistol. With this tool we learn safety, grip, aiming, posture and stance.
2. We progress to the SIRT laser training pistol. With this we learn to refine the pointing and aiming process and how to use the trigger efficiently.
3. After that (at some locations) we progress to the US Army's newest simulator system, the Odyssey Armament Training System (ATS). This is a customizable platform that enables firearm operators to train in extended reality (XR). The US Army has chosen Odyssey ATS based solutions for their STE Live Force on Force OTA. This also allows instructors to instruct students in legal use of force in real-world scenarios.
The Odyssey Armament Training System (OATS) is a revolutionary smart platform for
the firearms industry. Odyssey was awarded the SVT OTA as part of Team CAE in 2023 and have created the Inside Out Tracking system. IOC for the US Army is 2026.
Viper Weapons Training was selected as the test bed company, along with certain military test units for the system prior to the US Army full operational status.
We utilize these training tools as part of our shooting courses during the initial academic session. They are our primary resource for the:
